Billet Box Replacement Screen: Which One Fits the DNA60?

Billet Box replacement screen: open DNA60 Billet Box beside a new OLED screen module

“Which screen do I need for my Billet Box?” is one of the questions we get asked most. Billet Boxes have gone through a lot of revisions over the years, and replacement screens are listed under all sorts of names, so it’s easy to order the wrong one.

Here’s the short answer.

The correct replacement screen for a DNA60 Billet Box

If your Billet Box runs an Evolv DNA60 board (the Rev 4b~60 and Rev 4C~60), the screen you need is the DNA40/60/75/200/250 Screen Replacement.

That’s the larger OLED screen used across the DNA40, DNA60, DNA75, DNA200 and DNA250 boards. It’s the one we fit and the one we recommend for every DNA60 Billet Box.

Which Billet Box do I have?

The revision is engraved on the box. Here’s how they line up:

A quick disclaimer: we’re not Billet Box historians. This timeline is our own interpretation, pieced together from what’s publicly available (see the sources at the end of this post) and what we see on the bench. If you know better, tell us and we’ll update it.

A note on the Rev 4a

The early Rev 4a uses the smaller DNA40 screen, which is hard soldered to the board. The correct part is the DNA20/30/40 Screen Replacement, but it isn’t plug-in: the old screen has to be desoldered and the new one soldered in. If you’re not confident with a soldering iron, our repair service can fit it for you.

Don’t order the DNA20/30/40 screen by mistake

We also sell a DNA20/30/40 Screen Replacement. Because both list “DNA40”, people often pick the wrong one. The DNA20/30/40 screen is the smaller, soldered-in OLED. It’s right for a Rev 4a, but it is not the screen for a DNA60 Billet Box.

Signs your Billet Box screen needs replacing

  • The screen is blank but the device still fires.
  • Lines, flicker or missing pixels.
  • The display is dim or burnt in.
  • The glass is cracked after a drop.

If the device won’t fire at all, the screen probably isn’t the problem. Get in touch and we’ll help you work it out.

While it’s open: replace the fire button board too

A worn or sticky fire button is the other common Billet Box fault, and if you’re already opening the box to swap the screen, it’s the ideal time to do it. The Billet Box Fire Button V2 is our new replacement fire button board, made for Billet Boxes.

Billet Box screen FAQ

What replacement screen fits a DNA60 Billet Box?

The DNA40/60/75/200/250 Screen Replacement. It fits the Rev 4b~60 and Rev 4C~60 Billet Box.

Will the DNA20/30/40 screen fit my Billet Box?

Only on a Rev 4a. The DNA20/30/40 screen is the smaller, soldered-in OLED. It doesn’t fit a DNA60 Billet Box (Rev 4b~60 or Rev 4C~60).

Can I replace the screen on a Rev 4a Billet Box?

Yes, with the DNA20/30/40 Screen Replacement, but it is hard soldered to the DNA40 board, so it has to be soldered in. Our repair service can fit it for you.

How do I tell which Billet Box revision I have?

The revision is engraved on the box, for example “Rev 4C~60”. Boxes marked “~60” use the DNA60 board.

Should I replace the fire button at the same time?

If the button feels worn or sticky, yes. The box is already open, and the Billet Box Fire Button V2 is a direct replacement.
