Guide to Replacement DNA Screens

TLDR; If you’re looking for a replacement screen for a DNA60 Billet Box you need a large screen.

Choosing the correct replacement DNA screen can be a bit of a faff. Nowhere near as tricky as patting your head whilst rubbing your tummy, but there’s definitely a few things you need to be aware of.

Whilst the newer Evolv boards ( don’t call them DNA chips, you’ll be barred) share the same screens, some of the older DNA boards can have some confusing options. There’s DNA 60 small screen and large screen choices. Then there’s DNA 40 large screens and small screens. There’s DNA 30’s, DNA 75’s, 200’s and more. Working out which screen is compatible with which board can be a nightmare if you’re noob or simply not paying that much attention.

Trust me. I’ve  bought the wrong screen twice.

Which Evolv screen do you need?

DNA Replacement Screens: A Visual

Here you can see the types of DNA replacement screens available. Not many, but enough to befuddle the mind of the modder. Let’s look at each one one in turn, find out what they are and which screen is the right one for your mod.

The screens:
  1. DNA 20 / 25 / 30 / 40 Small Screen*
  2. DNA 60 Small Screen ** 
  3. DNA 40 large / 60 large*** / 75 / 200 / 250
  4. DNA 75C / 100C / 250C

* Flex cable soldered to board

**Must have small screen DNA60 firmware

***Must have large screen DNA60 firmware

We’re on a mission to make mod making easy,  so we’ve made you some DNA 75c faceplate cutout 3D CAD files. 

These DNA 75C faceplate files allow you to import the cutout layout directly onto a face in your design. No more faffing about trying to get the screen, buttons and screws in the right place. Using these files could spare you unnecessary woe, and we think they’re an awesome and useful idea.

RM Covid-19: Don’t Panic

As the response to COVID-19 continues, many of you will have heard that Royal Mail will not be delivering on Saturdays.

Panic not!

The temporary suspension of Saturday delivery services applies only to letter format delivery. Here at Stealthvape we pride ourselves on our swift dispatch and delivery of mod parts and vape wire. Mod makers and vape hobbyists the world over choose us because of our lighting speed.

We’re delighted to let you know that items from us can still be delivered on a Saturday, with Royal Mail still allowing the delivery of Large Letters, Parcels and Tracked Letterboxable Formats. You can find the full list of unaffected services here.

Special Delivery Guaranteed Delivery timings have also changed slightly. Royal Mail says:

“Due to increased absence levels, we’ve reviewed our timed guarantees for Special Delivery Guaranteed by 9am and 1pm services and will make the following changes:

For items posted from Tuesday 31 March 2020 onwards, our guaranteed delivery for Special Delivery Guaranteed by 9.00am the next working day will change to by 12.00pm the next working day*.

Our guaranteed delivery for Special Delivery Guaranteed by 1.00pm will change to by 9.00pm the next working day”.

what doeS this mean ?

It means that all items will be processed and dispatched by us in the usual manner, but you may still encounter some delays receiving your goods. We ask that you remain patient and understand that Royal Mail at this most crucial of times is stretched to capacity, and slight delays to their service are to be expected. Here at Stealthvape we love our Posties, and ask you to cut them some slack. They’re doing what they can with the best that they have, and we think they’re doing an awesome job.

New CAD and Downloads Section

We are proud to present to you our new and updated website. The site is packed with many new features to make your life easier, now including an ultra-useful new Downloads Page. Here you will find CAD drawings relating to our own design 510’s, enclosures etc all in one convenient location. Incredibly handy for inclusion in your own mod making design work, these models will enable you to work accurately and creatively in your chosen favorite application. All designs are created by Stealthvape, save only for the DNA board CAD Models provided for us by Evolv. Designs are presented for easy download in .STEP and/ or .DXF format.  

 

We are providing you with these files to make your work as a modder much easier, and as such are offering them for use in good faith on an Attribution and Acknowledgement basis. You may incorporate our designs and adapt or modify as you see fit, we ask only that you obey Wheeton’s Law and credit us where credit is due. Giving a little shout out to Stealthvape would be awesome.
